John Denver became a star thanks to the folk songs he composed, the majority of which are situated in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was raised in Roswell New Mexico. He fell in love Colorado. He eventually made his way to Aspen. Denver's iconic anthems for Colorado have inspired many people to make the move to Colorado. G. Brown of Colorado Music Hall of Fame, the hall's curator of fame, stated: "I don't believe there any other performer who embodies Colorado in the same way as John Denver." Denver was inducted into the Hall of Fame as its first member in 2011. Denver is a symbol of the state for all people. When I travel, you are likely to meet people from opposite sides of the globe. As an example, you might meet people from New Zealand. And when you say that you are originally from Colorado you will get "Oh John Denver!" Brown said. Take Me Home Country Roads written by Bill Danoff and Denver after his brief stint with folk bands and was his debut Top 10 solo hit. Danoff had written the song inspired by Johnny Cash, but Denver could hear an early version and knew the song would be an instant hit in the top 10. The track was released just several weeks after it was performed in Washington D.C. performance.
